Welcome to Monti Hats. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of montihats.com and your purchase of our handwoven paja toquilla hats and artisan earrings. By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully.
Monti Hats specialises in authentic, handwoven paja toquilla products crafted by skilled artisans in Ecuador. Each piece is unique and may exhibit slight natural variations in weave, colour, or finish. All hallmarks of genuine handcraft, not defects.
Our current range includes handwoven paja toquilla hats and artisan earrings. All product descriptions, images, and dimensions on our website are as accurate as possible; however, colours may vary slightly due to screen settings and the natural variation of paja toquilla fibre.
By placing an order through montihats.com, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract. All orders are subject to availability and acceptance by Monti Hats.
Order confirmationOnce your order is placed, you will receive an automated confirmation email. This confirms receipt of your order but does not constitute acceptance. Acceptance occurs when your order is dispatched and a shipping confirmation is sent.
Custom & personalised ordersFor bespoke or custom orders, additional lead times apply. Custom items are non-refundable once production has commenced, unless they are found to be defective or significantly different from what was agreed.
All prices are listed in the currency shown at checkout and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Monti Hats reserves the right to amend prices at any time; however, the price applicable to your order is the price shown at the time of purchase.
We accept the following payment methods:

- Other secure payment options as displayed at checkout
All transactions are processed securely through encrypted payment gateways. Monti Hats does not store your full card details.
We ship worldwide. Estimated delivery times are provided at checkout and may be affected by customs, public holidays, or unforeseen delays.
- Standard shipping: 7-14 business days
- Express shipping: within 2 days
Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on destination. Risk of loss or damage passes to you upon delivery to the carrier. Monti Hats is not liable for delays caused by customs clearance or third-party carriers. Any import duties, taxes, or customs fees are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
Damaged or lost ordersIf your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photographs of the damage. We will assess each case and work to resolve it promptly. For orders lost in transit, please contact us and we will liaise with the carrier on your behalf.
We want you to love your Monti Hats purchase. If for any reason you are not satisfied, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to notify us of your return. You will then have a further 14 days to send the item back to us.
Conditions for returnItems must be unused, unworn, and in their original condition with all tags attached. To initiate a return, please contact us at support@montihats.com with your order number and reason for return.
RefundsOnce we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you of the outcome. Approved refunds will be processed within 7-10 business days to your original payment method. Original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error.
Non-returnable items- Custom or personalised orders (unless defective)
- Items showing signs of wear, alteration, or damage caused by the customer
- Sale or final-clearance items marked as non-returnable
All content on montihats.com, including text, images, logos, product designs, graphics, and branding, is the exclusive property of Monti Hats and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use any content from our website without prior written consent.
Monti Hats is committed to protecting your personal data. We collect and process your information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We will never sell your personal information to third parties. Data is used solely to fulfil your orders, improve our services, and, where you have opted in, send you relevant marketing communications.

We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 2 business days and resolve them within 5 business days. If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may refer the matter to an alternative dispute resolution scheme or the courts of England and Wales.
Monti Hats shall not be liable for any failure or delay in fulfilling an order where such failure or delay arises from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, natural disasters, extreme weather, strikes, pandemics, government restrictions, or significant disruptions to supply chains or courier services.
In such circumstances, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and work to resolve the situation. You will always have the right to cancel your order and receive a full refund if we are unable to fulfil it within a reasonable timeframe.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Monti Hats shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our website or products. Our total liability shall not exceed the purchase price paid for the relevant order.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot be excluded by law.
